Here We Go!!!

Well, we're here. I made it up on Tuesday and Chris got here today. The season opened this morning, but we're not hunting until Monday, Sept. 3rd. The weather looks to be nice this week (highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's), but recent rains have the farmers a bit worried about getting their crops in. Probably only 10% of the harvest is complete so far. The big honkers are starting to gang up in the fields that are harvested. We have at least half a dozen fields that are holding good numbers of birds, so I guess we'll look at them again in the morning and decide where to hunt on Monday. It's a nice problem to have. Saw a group of high birds coming in today, and there are a few sandhill cranes here already, so it won't be long till the migration kicks off.

The gang from RNT calls came up and hunted with us for a few days at the end of the 2006 season. "Hunting" and "hunting with a camera crew" are as different as night and day! Fortunately, the birds cooperated and the guys got some great footage. According to Jimbo (RNT's video GURU!) the episodes will air sometime this fall......stay tuned!
"RNT-V: It's What We Do" airs on the Men's Outdoor and Recreation Channel (MOR), which is available on Dish Network and DIRECTV.
2007 Season Is In The Books!

Well, Chris and I would like to thank everyone for helping make our 2007 season a success. As always, the countryside is beautiful, the birds were plentiful, and the people were great.
2007 will have to be referred to as "The Year of the Duck!" I have never seen cloud after cloud of ducks like we had most of this year. The duck numbers were just incredible.
If you're thinking about hunting with us for '08, please contact us as soon as possible. We anticipate filling up to our maximum capacity rather quickly.
